Horror novelist Mylo Carbia was named along side of Stephen King, Clive Barker, Dean Koontz, Anne Rice, Ramsey Campbell, Neil Gaiman and Peter Straub as one of the “Top 10 Horror Authors Alive Today” by BestHorrorAuthors.com.
This is a major accomplishment, given the fact that Carbia is the only author to make the list with one published book at the time of the listing (her years spent as a horror screenwriter/ghostwriter seemed to have counted towards this decision). Dane Lawson, Editor-In-Chief, listed her in the #7 spot and wrote:
“Called ‘The Queen of Horror’ by Hollywood insiders, Mylo Carbia is a former Hollywood Screenwriter turned #1 Bestselling Author that famously grew up in a notoriously haunted house (think Amityville Horror). After spending 13 years ghostwriting films, her debut novel ‘The Raping of Ava DeSantis’ won 4 ‘Best Novel of the Year’ awards and beat Stephen King and Dean Koontz for the #1 bestseller spot just two days after its release in late 2015. We think her style of thriller-horror writing is so sharp, fresh and original that with only one published novel, she still makes our list. Her follow up ‘Violets Are Red’ is due out this Fall, and she’s announced plans to release seven more horror-thriller novels over the next seven years. Needless to say, we can’t wait.”
