Ranked 7thin Book Launch’s “Top 10 Horror Authors Alive Today,” and among the “Top 250 Most Influential Authors” by Richtopia.com, Mylo Carbia is a Hollywood screenwriter turned bestselling author, widely known for her work in the horror-thriller genre, and trademark of surprise twist endings.
Born and raised in Jackson, New Jersey, Carbia famously spent her childhood years writing to escape the horrors of growing up in a severely haunted house. By the age of 17, she was already well-established as a prolific young playwright. At the age of 30, her very first screenplay was optioned 28 days after completion, earning Carbia a “three picture deal,” and the cover of Hollywood Scriptwriterin 2003.
After that time, Carbia quietly penned numerous television and film projects under her production company Zohar Films—earning the nickname “The Queen of Horror” and the reputation of being one of Hollywood’s best kept secrets.
In 2015, Carbia left Hollywood to release a series of novels all featuring strong female protagonists. Her debut novel, THE RAPING OF AVA DESANTIS, hit #1 bestseller in four categories, and won multiple awards, including the prestigious Silver Falchion Award for Outstanding Achievement in Fiction.
Her psychological thriller, VIOLETS ARE RED, hit #1 New Release on Amazon within hours of going live, won “Best Horror-Thriller of the Year,” and continues to receive critical acclaim from both avid readers and critics worldwide.
Last month, Carbia announced an exclusive deal with Audible to release her audiobooks starting this Spring. The best part? Mylo Carbia will narrate the audio versions herself, performing nearly a hundred characters with over forty different accents and dialects.
Although Carbia will continue to serve as a writer/producer of film projects based on her novels, she plans to continue to write (and narrate!) exclusively for the literary world, including the syfy horror-thriller, Z.O.O., the historical horror novel YORUBA, and the paranormal suspense-thriller, THE WALK-INS.
Look for her personally narrated audiobooks on Audible late Spring 2020.
